Partner's Family
Have you ever liked your partner's family more than you liked your partner? That happened to me a couple times and we stayed together longer than we should have, because I didn't want to stop seeing his family.

RE: Partner's Family
Actually, yes. I have stayed with somebody just because I thought there was potential and I liked the family. They were really nice people and I had a lot in common with his sister. Didn't work out but I am still friends with her.

RE: Partner's Family
LOL no, sorry but for some reason and unfortunately they have never been very good people. I have always had a hard time with them. They don't like me or what I do or want me to be something different.

RE: Partner's Family
I haven't stayed with someone just for their family, but I have no problem with staying friends with the family of someone that I'm not dating anymore, because it's a separate relationship.

RE: Partner's Family
I have always found one family member that I really like in my boyfriends family but they in an entirety seem to be pretty dysfunctional. It puts a lot of stress on us and having to chose sides sometimes.

RE: Partner's Family
I can understand what you mean, but I can't say that I've passed through such a situation. Some members of my ex-boyfriend's family (his brother and his sister) were really nice people and we got along quite well the times we went together to the disco, but I'm afraid that - after breaking up with the guy - I haven't kept in touch with any of his relatives...

RE: Partner's Family
Sorry, but no. It seems to me that it is not trustful. It's impossible to have good relations with your partner's relatives after you broke up.
